This is a picture of my Grandparents Jane and James Murphy, my Mothers parents, on their wedding day in 1926, 100 years ago 💚

They were born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1906 and immigrated to the US in their twenties. They settled in Kearny, New Jersey, proceeded to have 6 children (3 girls and 3 boys, just like my Mom had and just like I had...what are the chances of that??!😊) and are responsible for a big loving Murphy family whose Irish pride runs deep ☘️💚 And this past year was a very special one indeed for me because I was able to visit Belfast Ireland twice and walk Townsend Street, the street that Gram was born on.  I’ll be back in November to do the same and couldn’t be more excited about that ☘️

These 2 overcame a tremendous amount of hardship during their lives. And throughout it all, they maintained their faith and humor…. I also know that they are both with my Mother in spirit everyday that she has left on this earth 🙏

This is an excerpt from a Guinness commercial that I love...

“On St. Patrick’s Day we are all Irish, but let’s not forget that every day, we are all human. What matters is being with people you care about. Whether you are planning to celebrate at the pub, or at home, if you can call the people around you friends or family, you’ve already won. When you raise a pint of Guinness, also remember to raise each other up.”

So today I raise a pint to all of you in the memory of my Grandparents Jane and James Murphy and leave you with a simple Irish prayer🙏🏻
