Odessa A’zion is getting real about “the most embarrassing thing on planet Earth” — her ‘Little Mermaid’ audition! 🧜‍♀️

Speaking with Variety on the red carpet at the Academy Awards, the actress called it the “worst audition of all time.”

“I sang ‘Part of Your World.’ I was so nervous that I forgot the lyrics to ‘Part of Your World’ while I was singing it,” she admitted. 😭

It only got worse from there. After preparing the song in what she described as a “princess voice,” she was asked to switch it up mid-auditio and completely blanked.

“Then they were like, ‘Just do it normal.’ I couldn’t do it normal, I’d memorized it in that voice. I left like, ‘That was the most embarrassing thing on planet Earth.’”

She added that she “didn’t hear back” and “didn’t get a callback”  after the audition... which, yeah, checks out. 😅

Of course, the role of Ariel ultimately went to Halle Bailey, who captivated all our hearts as the iconic red-headed mermaid.
