🌱 WHAT GENDER-RESPONSIVE MEANS 🌱

Gender-responsive programming recognizes that women have different pathways into the justice system and different needs for successful reentry.

This approach includes:
✅ Trauma-informed care that addresses abuse history
✅ Maternal health support and parenting programs
✅ Mental health and substance use treatment designed for women
✅ Job training in fields with livable wages
✅ Safe, stable housing options
✅ Childcare support during programming
✅ Building healthy relationships and boundaries

When programs are designed WITH women, FOR women, the outcomes speak for themselves: lower recidivism, stronger families, safer communities.

This is the future we've been building since 1987 when the Center for Women opened. 💚
