How to spend a solo travel day in Detroit, Michigan (summer edition) 🌆 

1. Start your morning at Eastern Market to buy some produce, eat a meal, shop local vendors, and enjoy the art.

2. Visit the Heidelberg Project, an outdoor art project that transformed vacant lots to art installations. 

3. View the art at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

4. Walk the Riverfront for views of both the river and Canada.

5. Stop by the Spirit of Detroit and the Monument to Joe Louis.

6. Walk The Belt, an alley in the former garment district filled with murals and local bars and restaurants.

7. Get ready to channel your inner child and play at the nearby Monroe Street Midway. Here you can roller skate, play basketball, and mini golf.

8. Grab a drink at the Downtown Detroit Urban Beach at Campus Martius.

9. And here’s a bonus thing to add to your itinerary, grab a pastry from my favorite bakery Astoria in Greektown! 

Summer in Detroit truly brings the city to life. I can’t recommend visiting enough! 🤍
