Exploring the Indiana Dunes on a weekend trip 🥾 

Accommodations: We camped at the national park’s Dunewood Campground 🏕 

Night 1: Dinner at nearby Craft House in Chesterton, Indiana 🍻 

Sunset over Lake Michigan at Kemil Beach 🌅 You can also see the Chicago skyline from here!

Day 2: Hiking + Packed Lunch at the Park

Trail 1: 3 Dune Challenge, Indiana Dunes State Park 🥾 
Distance: 1.5 miles
Climbs up the tallest sand dunes at the state park
Toughest trail in the park
Follow Trail 8
You can take Trail 7 down to the beach
Time: 40-70 minutes (depending on physical ability & time spent on the beach)

Trail 2: Indiana Dunes Trail 9, Indiana Dunes State Park 🥾 
Distance: 3.8 miles
Time: 80-90 minutes
Moderate difficulty
Incredible views of the dunes and Lake Michigan
