It’s Cassie! Your go-to resource on all things travel planning. I’m here with a must-do on Mackinac Island. 

Mackinac Island is the most unique travel destination in Michigan. You take a ferry through Lake Huron to get to the island. There are no cars. No chain hotels. The island is all about local businesses and old-world hospitality. 

At the center of old-world hospitality is the Grand Hotel. The Grand Hotel is all about cherished traditions - afternoon tea in the parlor, croquet and bocce in the tea garden, and dressing up for dinner and nightly dancing. 🎶 

While it may not be in your budget to stay at the hotel, you can purchase $10 admission to explore the hotel and grounds. 

We used this time to sit on the world’s longest front porch, enjoy the view, and sip on a cocktail. We browsed the shops, explored the parlor, and played yard games on the lawn. 

I highly recommend this experience to anyone on the island who wants to explore the hotel but can’t afford a room with weekend rates starting at the following:
Double: $395 per person, per night
Single: $715 per night
