Happy birthday Josef Albers! 🟥🟨🟩🟧

As an abstract painter and influential art teacher of the 20th century, Albers expanded on color theory and composition. In his 25 year-long series “Homage to the Square,” Albers fixated on the interaction of color. He believed a viewer’s perception of color could be influenced by the hues surrounding it. He made more than one thousand unique arrangements of these nested squares.
