Spring is a season of new beginnings — not just for people, but for all the life around us.

Recently, Officer Wood in Colorado responded to a call about a litter of baby squirrels who had been inadvertently “hitching a ride” under the hood of a car.

While their mother stayed nearby, she ultimately didn’t return, and the babies were safely transported to a licensed wildlife rehabilitation facility. This story is a gentle reminder of the delicate balance between humans and wildlife: when animals appear injured, lost, or in danger, a licensed wildlife rehabilitator should be your first call.
