Closing The Gap /Episode 1/ 🤏🏾

I had just a few days to prepare for an interview with alexiaputellas and I realized it wasn’t really about the questions, it was about how I showed up. I knew I couldn’t look nervous, I had to make her feel comfortable, and I had to carry myself like I’d already been in that room before. So I practiced over and over any chance I got until that version of me felt natural. And when I got there, I had never felt more confident or more like the Jessica in my vision board. In that moment, I took a real step toward the career I’ve always wanted, as someone trusted to have meaningful conversations with the very best.

And something I’ve been thinking about is how when we constantly say we’re “becoming” something, it can reinforce that we’re not that person yet, that there’s a gap. I don’t fully believe that. I think sometimes you have to trick your mind by just being that person now. What would the best version of you do? How would they show up? For me, she was relaxed, personable, and confident, even in her first interview with one of the best players in the world.
