## Caption

March 21 was officially proclaimed Ernie Anastos Day by Mayor Bill de Blasio in 2017 — honoring a man who defined New York news for over four decades.

A trusted voice. A true broadcast legend.

As New York mourns his passing, today carries even more weight.
His impact on this city — and on me — will never leave.

Condolences to his family. His voice will live on — far beyond New York.
