According to WBRZ, the incident happened on March 10 as Kimani’s parents were switching shifts. While waiting in the car, a younger relative picked up a gun and accidentally fired it, striking Kimani, who was outside the vehicle. She later passed away from her injuries.

In an emotional message, her mother thanked NBA YoungBoy and his team for covering the funeral costs. “I know Baton Rouge love to say all the bad things people do, but I want to be the first to say publicly thanks to NBA YoungBoy and everyone on his team,” she wrote. “As I type this with tears in my eyes, my baby Kimani’s funeral is officially paid for.”
