Hey hey!! Okay so STING has officially been out for a couple weeks and we are not okay (in the best way possible)!!! You guys are LOVING it and streaming it like crazy and that makes us so happy. We've been waiting for this one and we just have so much to say so grab a snack, get comfy, and let us tell you everything 😍 Where did this one even come from? The writing room is basically our therapy. We go in, we wear our hearts on our sleeves, and we let it all out. We joke that our exes gave us way too much ammunition over the years and STING is the proof lol. yes, we're both happily married now 🥂 but that doesn't mean we can't dig into those past chapters and make something out of them 👀😂 The specific feeling we wanted to capture? You know that moment when your best friend gets broken up with and your gut reaction is "WAIT. THEY broke up with YOU?!??!" — that part disbelief, part protective, part absolutely furious feeling? That's STING. We wanted to bottle that energy and hand it to everyone who's ever deserved better. The sound - because YES it goes hard! We've spent years on the road playing clubs and festivals and we learned pretty quickly that rocking out is not optional during our live show lol. So when we went into writing for this new project, we knew we wanted the music to match that stage energy we've been living in. We wrote STING with the incredibly talented Andrew Beason and Emma Place, and Beason just got it. He comes from that same love of both rock and country that we do, and he understood the assignment immediately. The track digs into our rock roots while staying true to our Nashville/Country lyricism, and we are not mad about it one single bit.  Then we recorded it with the amazing Andrew Baylis who has worked with other incredible artists like Koe Wetzel and Jelly Roll, and hearing it come to life in the studio is genuinely a memory we'll carry every time we listen to it. The whole vibe we were going for: unapologetic confidence with an antagonistic, almost smirking perspective, the narrator looks down from the breakup's higher ground, twists the knife and channels the snarling, early-2000s energy of Avril Lavigne. It’s defiant, biting, and fearless; it’s a windows down, scream-it-in-your-car, therapeutic release. Did we nail it? We think so  😉🖤 Our favorite line  "Cherry chapstick on her lips, does she know just who you miss?" That line just paints the picture so perfectly. It drops you right into the headspace and the era that STING lives in and we love it so much. 💋 The moment we knew We have telepathy when it comes to loving a song we wrote or not. We both knew when we left the write and heard the demo for STING on the car ride home that it was special. Putting it on repeat the next couple of weeks was definitely a tell tale sign that we loved it! And LIVE?? don't even get us started STING live is a whole other level of energy and we are SO here for it. We actually play it in a medley with one of our favorite Avril Lavigne songs and it is genuinely one of the most fun moments of our set. The best compliment? After shows, people come up to us and ask what that song was called and if it's out yet because they need to hear it again. That means everything to us. What's coming STING is part of something bigger, this whole new era we're building. We've found this beautiful balance of rock edge, country lyricism, and a little pop sugar sprinkled into this record. It feels authentic and truly one of a kind. There is more of this sound coming and we genuinely cannot wait for you to hear it!
