🥇2024 Hoosier-Illini undefeated champions🥇

Where do we start? Friday: Mason reasonably called off our travel plans due to hazardous road conditions.  That decision sparked much backlash. I mean, a lot. Aidan acted like he had never been told no in his life, while Brian wasted no time making memes (naturally).  The groupme was as entertaining as it was infuriated. 

Hours later, our gracious hosts @illinoismensvolleyballclub and @indianamvbc offered a delay-start accommodation, allowing us to participate if we were able to begin our quest to Bloomington at 5:30 in the morning.

We woke up on Saturday morning and hit the road. It took some cars 6 hours while others 7. The team showed up just in time for our 2:00 game, followed by matches at 3:00 and 4:00.  With energy levels at about 25% after the exhausting drives, we swept the talkative Hoosiers, underestimated Vols of UTK, and Liberty Flames for a perfect pool play performance. 

B Team pulled up short handed, but Will Pluskota was there to play libero so the team had never looked better.  They faced a tough pool with Michigan State B, Indiana B, and Ohio State C.  Tigers were beat by MSU and IU, but emerged victorious over tOSU. 

We concluded Saturday with Buffalooies and retired to our distant motel without hot water.  Good sleep was all we needed, and we got it. We woke up rejuvenated and went straight to Donny’s where Mason got the wrong milk. #cutthat

A team cherished their first round bye and got right into the quarterfinals against Michigan State A.  Tigers bested the Spartans in two clean sets.  Next, we played our game against the Illini.  As always, a good match against good competition.  Mizzou prevailed in 2 intense sets. Finally, we were in the championship. Mizzou clipped the Huskies of Northeastern in 2 rewarding sets. We finish the competitive tournament satisfied, with a flawless record. Hoosier-Illini champions🏆

B team fell in the quarterfinals.
