Mizzou Men’s Club Volleyball, A-team

The best team and closest family we’ve had in recent history. 12 upperclassmen/graduates and 3 underclassmen. It’s safe to say this tight-knit group would be better defined as a brotherhood.  

This team achieved 1st place at all 7 tournaments attended prior to nationals:
 • Iowa Hawkeye Invitational
 • Illini 16
 • Mizzou Tiger Spike Showdown
 • Conference Regional
 • Hoosier-Illini
 • Conference Crossover
 • Conference Championships

These tigers harnessed the No. 2 overall ranking for the 3 most recent ranking dates, ultimately moving to No. 1 overall upon entering the National tournament. At Nationals, we swept day 1 and battled day 2 for admission to the gold bracket. The Division I gold bracket harbors the top 16 of 288 total men’s teams can fight for the natty chip. 
The last 2 years your tigers have choked the first game of gold bracket, tying for 9th in the country.

This year was different and we broke the curse. We left everything on the court for that first game and came out on top. Then, in the elite 8, we did the same in an electric sweep. Come the final 4, hoping to keep keep the train moving, the tigers met their match and fell to an unstoppable team who went on to win the championship. The tigers took a semi-final exit and tied for 3rd place.  We ended the season with an overall record of 45-3. 

This season has been nothing short of a blast on and off the court since day 1.
