How much easier is the Seoul subway gonna get? 🤷‍♀️🚊

Seoul Metro just announced they’re rolling out “tagless” gates across 276 stations on Lines 1–8 👀

All you have to do is install the app, keep your Bluetooth on, and walk through—no tapping your card needed. It just pays automatically.

This system is expected to cut gate passing time by about 0.23 seconds per person, which could seriously reduce lines during rush hour. It’s also a big win for seniors, wheelchair users, and anyone with strollers 🙌

The installation will wrap up this year, with the system launching in January 2027.
