Spring carp fishing isn’t about chucking it out and hoping for the best.

If you’re struggling this time of year, it’s usually something simple:

The sun is everything, even more than the wind early on. Find the water that’s warming up and you’ll find the fish.

They’ll spend a lot of time in the upper layers and in the shallows, especially in the afternoons.

Don’t go mad on the bait either, a small spread of quality bait will outfish a big spread in spring. Zigs are also a massive edge when the fish are in the upper layers

More than anything tho, watch the water. Shows, fizzing, little signs 🪧 that’s what you should be fishing to, not just spots you’ve seen online.

Be prepared to move and listen to the lake owners advice . The lads that stay mobile are the ones catching consistently right now.

Spring’s one of my favourite times of year and if you get it right, it can be some of the best 🤩👌🏻

Save this for your next trip and see how you get on.
