What this TSA worker is pointing to isn’t complicated. It’s the gap between what people are asked to do every day and what they’re getting in return. Show up, stay professional, keep things moving… even when the system behind it isn’t holding up its end.

It’s easy to talk about shutdowns as strategy or politics. It’s harder to sit with what that actually looks like for the people keeping things running anyway.

At some point, it becomes less about positioning and more about responsibility. Keeping people paid and systems functioning isn’t a partisan ask, it’s the baseline.
