Today, on #WorldBearDay, we celebrate the resilience and intelligence of Colorado’s Black Bears, one of our most remarkable native species. 

Black Bears play a critically-important role within our ecosystems, helping control insect populations and disperse seeds, but they also serve as a reminder of the delicate balance between humans and nature.

To support safe coexistence, Colorado is investing $1 million to prevent bear-human conflicts—a proactive approach that protects both bears and communities. By reducing human-bear conflicts, we give these animals the space they need to thrive while keeping neighborhoods safe.
