#TSRPrayersUp: Two pilots have been confirmed deceased, and dozens of other people are injured after an #AirCanada Express aircraft collided with a fire-rescue truck at New York’s #LaGuardiaAirport.

According to cbsnews, senior transportation and national correspondent Kris Van Cleave reported that the incident, which took place late Sunday, occurred after air traffic control was also responding to a separate incident where pilots of United Airlines flight halted their takeoff when an anti-ice warning light came on.

Assistance from firefighters was requested after an odor in the cabin was reported, leaving the flight attendants feeling ill, declaring an emergency.

Recordings revealed that air traffic control reportedly cleared the fire rescue vehicle to cross the runway before telling it to stop. The pilot and co-pilot were killed in the collision, and 41 people were taken to the hospital, including two Port Authority Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting officers.

Images and video show the Air Canada aircraft, which was coming in from Montreal, significantly damaged in the front.
