Russia has restored its capability to fly to the International Space Station after launching a Soyuz rocket from a repaired launch pad at the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.⁣
⁣
The Soyuz-2.1a rocket carrying the Progress MS-33 cargo spacecraft lifted off and was placed into orbit, with docking at the ISS expected on Tuesday.⁣
⁣
The launch pad had been out of commission since November, when it was badly damaged during the blastoff of the Soyuz MS-28 mission — leaving Russia without any means of sending crew or cargo to the ISS for months. ⁣
