Black Women in History Spotlight- The first Black woman to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in the country - Mary Jane Patterson. 📍After making history in 1862 graduating with honors from Oberlin College, she went on to became a teacher, and eventually becoming  the first Black principal of the Preparatory High School for Colored Youth in DC.
