Thank you, hockey.

For 16 years, this game has been a part of my life. It taught me discipline, toughness, and how to keep going when things don’t go your way. But my journey with hockey didn’t go how I expected. My junior year, I was let go and told I wasn’t good enough. At the time, that was one of the hardest things I had ever heard. It felt like everything I worked for was just gone.

Looking back now, that moment ended up changing my life.

Instead of walking away from the sport, I found a different way to stay in it. I picked up a camera and started capturing the game from a new perspective. What started as just taking pictures quickly turned into something way bigger. I went all in, put the time in, and committed myself to improving every single day.

Over the last three years, that decision has taken me further than I ever imagined. I’ve been able to work with players, teams, and programs across the state, and somehow became one of the most well-known hockey photographers in Connecticut. That still doesn’t feel real to say.

None of this happens without the people around me. To everyone who supported me, trusted me, shared my work, or gave me an opportunity, thank you. It means more than you know.

Hockey didn’t end for me when I stopped playing. It just changed. The same passion is still there, just in a different role. I still feel the energy, the emotion, and everything that makes this sport special — now I just get to capture it.

This isn’t a goodbye to hockey. It’s a thank you for everything it’s given me, both on and off the ice.
