In 1996, the ADVAN BP NSX became the inaugural Honda NSX to compete in the JGTC GT500 class. Notably, it was the first vehicle in the series to feature a sequential gearbox. This same specification was utilized in the 1996 24 Hours of Le Mans, with Keiichi Tsuchiya as one of the drivers.
