How to negotiate a real estate deal? 

As Buying agents, we advise international clients acquiring real estate across Europe.
 
Our role is not just to find your dream home, but also to negotiate the best price. A question I am getting over and over is how to best negotiate a real estate deal. Few basic rules:
 
1. Always remember that estate agents represent the seller and their objective is to sell high. Nothing wrong with that, they do their job. But they don’t represent your interests. 
 
2. Know the market inside out and the true value of your chosen property. If you don’t, get an expert and advisor by your side.
 
3. Always back up your lower offer with facts and market data, otherwise you will lose all credibility within the negotiations and end up in subjective debates.
 
Last, be patient and calm. Good negotiation takes time. Do not rush with your counter offers.
