In the past few years, it’s become an entrepreneurial hub and a favourite with digital nomads thanks to its great work/life balance, low cost of living and favourable year-round climate. There is a growing number of co-working spaces in the city and the Factory Lisbon, a unique tech-campus has been hailed as a Mecca for start-ups. With these factors in mind there has been a rise in tech companies moving into Lisbon and has seen the city emerge for the first time onto the European and global tech stage.
 
With investment from large tech firms growing, Lisbon has become a prime destination for international real estate investors and property prices have been steadily rising. The recent decision by the Portuguese government to stop the Golden Visa scheme in Lisbon, Porto and the Algarve in July is likely to drive a flurry of activity from foreign buyers to begin the application process in time.
