“Don’t be too sensitive and vulnerable”, “don’t share this on your brand account”, “be upbeat”, “don’t be too feminine”, “tone your print down to be more commercial”, “don’t show yourself crying”, “it’s narcissistic”, “have some dignity”.

It is ok to post ourselves shirtless and let’s be honest: naked bodies but you cannot show yourself emotionally naked? What is it that I am that reflects something you cannot heal in yourself? 

It’s Iagu. It’s Corentin. It’s you. When I write and design and shoot photos of clothes, it’s not marketing. It is so much more than a brand name. It’s a movement. It’s what happens in real life: meeting souls that want to express themselves so deeply but are scared of how others will react. Most of what we do at Iagu is unseen: it’s not always prints and colourful clothes. It’s personal. It’s cathartic. It’s intimate. It’s naked.

That is why I post what I post now - Whether you’re struggling with your relationship, job, entrepreneurship, divorce etc, allow yourself to cry. It’s not sad. It’s liberating. I had long forgotten how to cry because I had to keep a face. I had forgotten that I am the only one who can make me feel the way I deserve. I was reminded by a beautiful person, Shanna. We all need each other more than ever and if we can show our bodies naked, let’s show ourselves raw. I wish more brands would do that. We fight for a better world, we hear about climate change, sustainability but we CAN’T seem to be ok showing ourselves… not ok?! How can we possibly shift paradigms if we keep acting the same way - firstly - towards ourselves? 

Show me the designer crying because she/he feels the economic pressure. Show me the Artists struggling and not knowing where to go and what to do. Show me olivier_rousteing - perhaps the most honest designer here struggling to find its way. Show me how hard and happy it can be to be you.

We live to relate and love. Iagu is that. To be yourself unequivocally and being accepted by the collective.

I hope that this can help just one person feeling seen.
