#USAFA honors Medal of Honor recipient Capt. Lance P. Sijan, Class of 1965, whose courage and sacrifice continue to shape the Cadet Wing.
 
A fighter pilot during the Vietnam War, Sijan was shot down over Laos and evaded capture for weeks despite life-threatening injuries. Even after being captured, he resisted exploitation and upheld his duty to fellow prisoners under unimaginable conditions.
 
His actions represent the very foundation of the #WarriorEthos and the standard cadets strive to uphold.
