Elephants never forget and neither should we. These giants don’t just remember — they know each other by name, spoken in rumbles, trumpets, and soft chirps. Their voices are many: trumpets and grumbles, roars and rumbles, snorts, squeals, screams, chirps and deep notes too low for us to hear.

As the Earth’s gardeners, they shape the land, scatter seeds, and keep life breathing. But their songs are fading. In the last century, their numbers have fallen by more than 60%. They’ve lost 83% of the places they once called home. Each loss is more than an elephant. It’s a story, a legacy, a piece of the Earth’s balance gone.

Now, they carry a memory no one should have to bear: the loss of their own kind.
