With the recent buzz surrounding the live-action Moana trailer, we wanted to take on a massive creative challenge. There’s been a lot of conversation about character designs and cultural representation, so we decided to see if we could use AI to bring a different vision to life. 🌴✨

The Goal: This was purely a technical test to see how closely we could align the live-action aesthetic with the spirit of the original 2016 animation. 🎨

Maui: We’ve reimagined Maui with a hyper-realistic design inspired directly by his original proportions and features from the animated film.

Moana: We focused on adding back those iconic, beautiful curls to stay true to her heritage and the character we all fell in love with. 🐚🌀

Disclaimer: This is a fan-made project created to test the limits of our AI tech stack. We have immense respect for Disney and the original artists: this is not for copyright infringement, but a fun exercise in digital character design and community-led creativity. 🕊️🎬
