I am not a scientist, but if my memory of high school science serves me correctly I know that everything in this world is made of atoms and each and every one of those atoms is in a constant state of motion.  It’s the law of vibration. 

Einstein was once quoted as saying “Concerning matter, we have been all wrong. What we have called matter is energy, whose vibration has been so lowered as to be perceptible to the senses. There is no matter.”

I guess it totally makes sense that vibration, sound and music can affect us on such a deep level. We’re all vibration. 

You would have seen those clips circulate the interwebs of sound vibrations creating sacred geometry and wild symmetrical patterns in sand in response to vibrations. Quite amazing to witness. 

In recent years binaural beats, a phenomenon that occurs when you listen to two different frequencies at the same, have demonstrated to alter our brain wave activity. To the point where depending on the frequency, a listener can drop into different brain wave states for things like reduced anxiety, increased creativity, sleep and even enter transcendent meditative states. It’s this that is the inspiration for my latest piece Good Vibes from Close My Eyes So I Can See - a personal project exploring consciousness, meditation and sacred ritual in the digital age.
