You’re invincible?? I thought I was too. Naive with Peter Pan syndrome, lived like I could die tomorrow!
I didn’t protect myself. I could barely walk. Sometimes not at all.I lost everything. I was homeless. I was betrayed. I was heartbroken. I lived in fear, grief and unrelenting pain. I didn’t think I would ever paint again. The ones I believed loved me only judged. I became irrelevant despite giving everything I had for decades to everyone else. 

I couldn’t find the strength or the way. I felt very alone.

It’s been the hardest period of my life. I reached a point where I questioned whether I could keep going at all or if I mattered. It felt like rock bottom collapsed and I fell even lower.
Yet, I got up and kept moving forward. One brushstroke, one foot in front of the next.

This is what resilience really is. Not strength. Not positivity. It is the decision to continue when nothing feels possible.

Over time, resilience introduces grit. Welcome to the school of Grit - stay the course even when the pain doesn’t disappear. Even when progress is slow. 
Even when no one sees it yet… not even you. Don’t get me started on faith now..🤣

I still live with constant pain. The doctor’s say things I don’t want to believe and so I don’t. 
My reprieve is in creating and sharing it with you is my joy. 

And maybe my experience will inspire you to get back up, stand tall. Get up and get on, I say!
(A reminder to myself too).

If you are going through something right now, know this: 

You have a choice to make. 
It is up to you. Decide-whatever it takes. It is in you. Believe!
It does get better. I promise.
Not all at once, but enough to keep going.

Keep moving in the direction of your dreams. All I know is, along the way the glimpse of the rainbow is a sign.. smile knowingly.
