Of all the people who collected my work during the five year journey of creating the (UN)Forgotten collection, I thank you. 
Thank you for believing in me. 
Thank you for believing that art could have a greater purpose- to say something. 
Also- thank you for still loving me after those five years and add another five of complete insanity, pain and abuse. 
Thank you for welcoming me back, after the many falls on my face.

So many of you would ask me, “are you ok Pamela?”
“It feels like we’re losing you”.. 
I wasn’t ok. 
I lost myself. I carried the trauma and the pain for so long. 
I truly lost sight of who I was in the terror of delving so deep into the tragedy of 69 women who went missing and were found brutally murdered in my back yard- the downtown east side of Vancouver.
This collection was never made to be sold. It was meant to confront society with our role in the tragedy. Sadly, and for years someone had been trying to profit from and take this collection away from me. 
I never saw that I was a pawn to a game. It wasn’t my game. It was my life and I almost lost it.

I’m sorry if I’ve disappointed or hurt you by making this collection, by having great dreams and aspirations of making a difference that perhaps in my attempts,  I failed you.
 
I clawed my way back to health, and with barely a shirt on my back. 
I’ve learned so many lessons- difficult ones to face. But I did. And I’m stronger for it. 

As I continue to move forward, I take pause to say thank you- I am grateful for the lessons and the support of my friends, family, collectors, and to have the courage to move forward despite adversity.

If you are facing challenges in your life, please know that you are not alone. Find the courage to move forward even if it’s just the tiniest of baby steps.. Forgive others. Forgive yourself. This will help you move toward all you desire for your life. That this too shall pass. And most important, on the other side of forgiveness, is inner-peace.
