The hydrogen peroxide is mixed with washing-up liquid and food coloring. ⁠

Then the catalyst (potassium iodide), is added. The products of the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide are water and oxygen; the oxygen gas gets trapped by the washing up liquid and fluffy foam is suddenly produced.⁠
