Day 5 was rough, I felt overstimulated and needed space so I stayed to myself. I don’t like being around people when my energy is off.

Sugar shows up in our everyday foods, sometimes naturally sometimes added to enhance the flavor.

Cutting sugar is bringing me right back to when I stopped eating cheese.
Same kind of hard.
Both sugar and cheese interact with the brain’s reward system.

Sugar:
✤ Triggers a dopamine release (the “reward” chemical)
✤ Creates a quick sense of relief, energy, or comfort
✤ Trains the brain to want more, faster

Over time, the brain learns:

“This helps me feel better.”

So when you remove sugar, the brain doesn’t just miss the taste, it misses the regulation it was outsourcing to sugar.

Cheese works differently, but lands in the same place.
✤ It contains casein, which breaks into casomorphins during digestion
✤ Casomorphins bind to opioid receptors in the brain (mildly)
✤ This creates calm, comfort, and a desire to repeat the experience

So cheese doesn’t spike you like sugar —it soothes you.

This reset isn’t just physical.
I’ve felt this before.
I know what’s on the other side
