An AI-based historical documentary exploring the legacy, culture, and untold events of Kuttichira’s iconic Mishkal Mosque.

By the thirteenth century, the Zamorins established a powerful rule in Malabar with Kozhikode as their capital. During the Zamorin period, major exports from Malabar included spices (pepper, ginger, cardamom, and cinnamon), as well as cotton, rice, coconut, and sandalwood. The revenue generated through this trade strengthened the country’s economy. 

Under the Zamorin rule, the port of Kozhikode became a hub of world trade and diverse cultures. The Zamorins provided all facilities for trade to foreigners like Arabs, Turks, Yemenis, Bahrainis, and Chinese, as well as Indian traders including the Bora, Bhatkal Muslims, and Gujaratis. In the thirteenth century, Kozhikode grew into a major trade center. Ships from Arab countries primarily imported horses, dates, olive oil, and valuable textiles into Malabar. This trade was very active during that period.
