Ghosts weren’t exactly the reason Rocky Smith Jr. ran for the Oregon City Commission in 2008, but the haunted house he was trying to save did have something to do with it.

Today, Smith is still an Oregon City commissioner, as well as an Oregon City High School arts teacher, owner of NW Ghost Tours and creator of the Oregon Ghost Conference, happening this weekend at the Seaside Civic & Convention Center.

The three-day event gathers paranormal enthusiasts for workshops, demonstrations, psychic readings and late-night ghost hunts.
