Nine students have been injured after a car drove over a curb at St. Luke's Catholic School in Ankeny.

The Ankeny Police Department responded to a call for a car crash involving multiple pedestrians around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at St. Luke's Catholic School, according to Ankeny Police Sgt. Trevor McGraw.

Nine students from St. Luke’s, which holds elementary through eighth grade, were injured in the accident and sent to local hospitals, according to McGraw.

An investigation is underway. The driver remained on the scene and has been cooperating with law enforcement, according to McGraw.
