Last night, July 4, 2025, the Guadalupe River became a roaring demon, its waters raging with 10-15 inches of rain that fell like tears from a vengeful sky, shattering Texas Hill Country’s peace. In Kerrville, Comfort, and Ingram, this flash flood clawed away 27 lives—23 of them bright, giggling girls from Camp Mystic. My chest tightens thinking of the 270 souls yanked from the river’s grip, while remembering that there are others are still missing.
