A very unfortunate incident in Nepal 🇳🇵

On 5th October 2025, something really upsetting happened to me as an Indian tourist in Nepal. My vehicle permit had expired, and I couldn’t renew it on time because I was stuck in Pokhara due to a landslide. When I finally reached Kathmandu, the customs office was closed for Dashain holidays.

The next day, when I went to renew it, the person in this video told me I had to pay a fine of ₹11,000 for the late renewal. He even said, “I’ll help you… you can just pay ₹10,000, think of it as my support.” At first, I thought he was being kind.

But when I asked for the official receipt, he told me to give the cash directly to him, saying there’s no need to pay it anywhere else. Since I didn’t have enough money then, I went to the ATM, withdrew the amount, and handed it to him.

He took the money and put it straight into his pocket. In that moment, I felt something was wrong, but as a tourist, I didn’t know how to question it. Later, he told me to go outside and check my motorcycle. When I came back, he handed me my form and said everything was done.

When I checked it, I was shocked — the receipt showed only ₹2,000 paid officially, and the rest was missing. That’s when I realized what really happened.

Throughout my journey in Nepal, I met amazing, kind-hearted people who showed me love and hospitality. But this one experience truly hurt me.

Nepal is known for its youth standing strong against corruption, and I truly respect that. But it’s sad that things like this still happen, especially to visitors who come here with so much love and admiration.

I still love Nepal, its people, and its beautiful culture — but this incident really left a scar. I hope this video reaches the right officials, so no other traveler has to face this again.
