“High School” is the third and final single from Nicki Minaj’s reissue album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up, released on April 16, 2013, through Young Money, Cash Money, and Republic Records.  Featuring Lil Wayne, the track is a hip-hop and R&B collaboration that explores a narrative of forbidden attraction and street-oriented romance.  It served as a return to Minaj’s rap-heavy roots after her experimental pop-leaning singles earlier in the album cycle.

 The song was produced by Boi-1da and T-Minus, with writing credits shared by Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Matthew Samuels (Boi-1da), and Tyler Williams (T-Minus). Musically, it features a moody, atmospheric beat with heavy bass and melodic synths that provide a backdrop for Minaj’s aggressive flow and Lil Wayne’s characteristically witty verse.
