“Motivation” is the fourth single from Kelly Rowland’s third studio album, Here I Am, released on March 2, 2011, through Universal Motown Records.  Featuring a guest verse from Lil Wayne, the record marked a significant artistic shift for Rowland toward a more seductive, urban R&B sound, eventually becoming the most successful solo single of her career.

On the charts, “Motivation” was a major commercial triumph, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and staying at the top spot for seven non-consecutive weeks.  It also peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Rowland’s highest chart position as a solo lead artist.  The single has been certified 2× Platinum by the RIAA, reflecting its widespread popularity and impact on mainstream R&B during the early 2010s
