‘Money To Blow’ Birdman ft. Lil Wayne, Drake (2009)

“Money to Blow” is the third single from Birdman’s fourth studio album, Priceless, released on September 16, 2009.  Featuring then-Cash Money label mates Drake and Lil Wayne, the track is a hallmark of the Young Money/Cash Money era’s commercial dominance.  It was officially released through Cash Money and Universal Motown Records, with the full album following on November 23, 2009.

The record was produced by Drumma Boy (Christopher Gholson), who crafted the high‑energy, trap‑inflected beat.  Writing credits for the track are assigned to Bryan Williams (Birdman), Aubrey Graham (Drake), Dwayne Carter (Lil Wayne), and Christopher Gholson.  Notably, Drake delivers the melodic hook and the first verse, which many fans consider a defining moment in his rise to superstardom, while Lil Wayne provides the closing verse.

Commercially, “Money to Blow” stands as the most successful single of Birdman’s career as a lead artist.  It reached its peak at number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 on January 2, 2010.
