There is a specific kind of exhaustion that comes from living inside a decision you have already made but have not yet been able to execute.

You are still at the dinners and the meetings and the routines but you are already somewhere else in your head. You are already planning the next thing. You are already gone and you have not left yet and the gap between those two realities is genuinely one of the more disorienting places I have ever lived.

I spent six months in that gap before I moved to Costa Rica.
I kept showing up. I kept doing the work. I kept being present for the life I was in even while I was building the exit. 

Because I think that is what integrity looks like when you are in transition. You finish what you started. You leave things well. You do not check out before you check out.

But I will not pretend it was easy to be in two places at once.
If you are there right now, in that gap, I see you. Keep going. The distance between the decision and the door is always longer than you think it should be.
