Tag a friend you never want to skip Sprint Day with—so you can thrive longer, together!

For our ancestors, sprinting wasn’t a workout; it was survival. Whether chasing food or escaping danger, high-intensity movement shaped our physiology, wiring us for strength, speed, and resilience.

Today, we don’t need to sprint to survive—but doing it deliberately can help us live longer and better.

One of the best ways to measure this? VO2 max—your body’s ability to use oxygen efficiently. The higher your VO2 max, the greater your longevity potential. Sprinting is one of the fastest and definitely the most evolutionarily-consistent way to improve it.

Here’s how to train like your biology intended:

1. Warm up at 50-70% intensity + dynamic stretches

2. Sprint at 85%+ of your max heart rate (220 - your age = estimated max BPM)

3. Recover fully (let HR drop below 50%) before the next sprint (2-3 min)

4. Do this 5-10 times, should take no more than 15-30 min total

Most people don’t recover long enough between sprints to create the stress needed for real adaptation—don’t make that mistake. Take 2-3 minutes between sets to restore enough of your creatine phosphate system and hit each subsequent sprint at full intensity.
