On May 15, 2002, the UEFA Champions League Final returned to the historic Hampden Park in Glasgow, a venue already synonymous with Real Madrid’s 7-3 demolition of Eintracht Frankfurt in 1960. 
The match, contested against Bayer Leverkusen, was poised at 1-1 following early goals from Raúl and Lúcio. On the stroke of half-time, Roberto Carlos sent a high, looping cross from the left flank. Zinedine Zidane, positioned at the edge of the area, watched the ball descend from a significant height before executing a technical masterpiece: a full-body swivel and a left-footed volley into the top corner.
