Andriy Shevchenko: It is hard to find a more complete "modern" striker from that era than Shevchenko. While many forwards specialized in one area, Shevchenko’s versatility was his greatest weapon—he had the explosive pace to burn defenders on the counter-attack, the technical dribbling to create his own shots, and the aerial dominance usually reserved for traditional target men. 

Under Lobanovskiy, he was forged in a system of "Universalism," which is why he looked so comfortable anywhere on the pitch for Milan. His 2004 Ballon d’Or was the peak of a period where he was arguably the most feared number nine in world football.
Dynamo Kyiv (1994–1999, 2009–2012)
Shevchenko emerged as a European force in Kyiv, notably forming a prolific partnership with Serhiy Rebrov. His first stint concluded with a historic run to the 1999 Champions League semi-finals.
