Moments in Time, #albufeira🇵🇹 #portugal Today

Not the cliffs, not the beaches.
Not the picture-perfect postcards.
But the people. The in-between seconds.

Mothers and Daughter scrolling,
side by side but worlds apart.

A man feeding pigeons with his last crumbs his quiet generosity unseen by most. I gave him a handshake, a few euros, and some seconds of time.

He had three rounds of bread left in his bag,
clearly homeless, down on his luck, but kind.
No smell of alcohol, just a man who’s lost it all. Something about him still sits with me this evening.

Shivers run through me, how close that could’ve been me, if not for the generosity and help of a few. Something I’ll never take for granted. Something that will never go unnoticed.

A dog curled beside its owner on the pavement, both weathered, both proud.
He smiled, gave me a thumbs up. But walking away, I didn’t feel helpful
handing over loose change.
I felt hopeless.

Cups of coffee between stories and silences. People rushing nowhere.

So many glued to mobile phones, clearly not in the moment around them, but lost in another reality.

A waitress gliding from table to table,
tapping her terminal like second nature.

A couple arm in arm, moving as if they still meant it.

No filters. No poses.
Just a town breathing through its people, some local, some passing through. 
Unscripted. Undone. Real.
