17/08/18 Somewhere in Vietnam ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We had to ride nearly 500 kms to be back in Hanoi from Sapa! A task that tested both our extremes on our very limited paced motorbikes! Hell or heaven we had to!

My visa was expiring a day later, Roshan had booked a follow on flight from Hanoi to Ho chi minh city. We were meant to take another day for the journey, but meeting a DJ in Saapa and her promise of getting to show the nightlife had given both of us a “no objection” order for cutting short our trip back to one whole day of hard riding from each other.

We started at 11 AM from Sapa, we reached Hanoi at 8 AM the next day, not a blink of sleep. Rained through out, Roshans bike broke down once, numerous Vietnamese coffees! But hell of a ride!

Our real stop for a rest was in the middle of hair pin roads on a mountain, at Mr. Troys motorcycle workshop, we had pin dropped the location on to our map, it was our second visit to his shop, he had 1000 indian rupees that needed a conversion. How did a man of 24 years who lives in a country where the airports dont accept Indian rupees get some indian currency?

Well i did mention it was our second visit, our first happened when we were on our way up hill towards the Sapa mountains, Roshans “never faithful” motorbike had broken down again, this time to a point where we couldn’t fix on our own. 
To make things worse, we didn’t have any cash in hand, couldn’t find any ATMs for the previous 100 or so kilometres, for some reason Yen Bai the main city between Hanoi and Sapa, where we decided to sleep the previous night, didn’t have any food in any of their restaurants...we were miserable, out of cash and super hungry! 
Back to how we managed to meet Troy and his workshop, we ended up breaking down on an uphill, no signs of any mechanics in near vicinity (Vietnam runs on motorbikes and they have mechanic shops in every corners). Waited on kerb for a while and a random uncle sensing the situation sign languaged us towards to go down hill!
