 PART 2

What a fucking day

Out of the city and heading for some much needed peace from the horns and craziness the city brought, we headed to a nearby nature reserve to star gaze and allow the tinnitus to settle down.

We were greeted by Digvijay the resort owner who was going to take us on our dusk safari into the jungle.

We spotted a few animals including an antelope, jackal, peacocks, hyena, mongoose and a few rabbits. As we went through the jungle we came across a couple of tribal inhabitants and according to Digvijay there was about 100 or so living in the jungle.

As it got dark we started to head back, but out of nowhere some people darted off the road and into the jungle. We drove towards them and found abandoned bikes with collected logs on. It was the local tribe but they were under strict instructions not to cut down trees in this area. The ranger let down their bike tyres and confiscated the axes

We headed back to the jungle entrance where we had a chai with the rangers and the local police gave Dale a lift to the local station to relieve himself.

Back at the resort we had a bit of dinner and another chai and as we went to head back to our cabin, Digvijay asked if we fancied another adventure. Being the legends we are we of course embraced this with open arms.

2 mins later a police car rocked up with 5 policeman loaded with heavy artillery.

Digvijay explained we were going to a shrine 5km deep in the jungle that had appeared out of nowhere and a temple was built around it.

As we got to the temple there was this mysterious figure hunched in a corner with a robe wrapped over him. As we approached Digvijay explained who we were and told us that he was the priest who had been living in the jungle on his own since he was 9 years old. We had our blessing and thanked the priest.

We felt privileged to be invited to share this with these police officers and they were all so lovely and of course wanted some selfies with us.

James requested one more adventure so Digvijay set up a bonfire for us and grabbed us a few beers. What a fucking legend. Thanks Digvijay.
