This painting was made in response to the illegal invasion of Iraq by the US. Atrocity propaganda and the so called War on Terror was used after 9/11 (despite Iraq having nothing to do with) to justify what resulted in an estimated 1 million Iraqi deaths of which Madeleine Albright (former Secretary of State) when asked if 500,000 children’s deaths was worth it she replied with a ‘yes’. Cartoon fear was used to mobilise the most powerful democracy into an illegal invasion to benefit war profiteers.
